POETRY CORNERS [MONASH] MAP 2017
LAUNCHING 25th November
HOW IT WORKS
POETRY CORNERS is a public artwork designed to engage men, women and children to learn about and discuss issues of family violence. This year’s Poetry Corners in Clayton was created by 20 residents from the community and performed and translated by a range of people from diverse backgrounds. The Poetry Corners Walk has been made in support of the UN Women’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
“It is by sharing our stories that real understanding and change can begin”.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. START the Poetry Corners [Monash] map via your smartphone or tablet by logging onto the project website;
www.poetrycornersproject.weebly.com
2. PLUG IN YOUR HEADPHONES & begin the walk, following the red numbers on the map.
3. DISCOVER the extracts of poems on walls & floors around the village. Click on the red numbers to listen to the poems being recited in full.
4. REMOVE your headphones from your ears when crossing the road.
